Olivia Ballard Uses Mesh to Sculpt Bodies Through Her Fashion

for i-D Magazine

On the final day of Berlin Fashion Week, Olivia Ballard closed the schedule with her debut runway show at MaHalla in Oberschöneweide - marking a memorable end to the week.

Olivia first gained recognition for her gender-fluid yet hyper-feminine designs crafted from semi-transparent mesh fabrics - pieces she originally created for herself, unintentionally launching her eponymous label in the process. Each garment can be worn and tied in multiple ways. From the beginning, Olivia has made it a priority to design for a wide range of body types.

For i-D, we filmed backstage at the show and caught all the emotions - and tears of joy -from the models as they came off the runway.
