Sónar Lisboa is the sister festival of Sónar Barcelona - an institution on the international festival circuit. For three days, Sónar takes over the city for performances and DJ Sets.

For i-D, we turned our focus to some of the most exciting women shaping the line-up. Backstage before their sets, we photographed Portuguese DJ ZenGxrl, London artist Shygirl, who blurs the line between underground and mainstream, German producer and DJ Helena Hauff, known for her raw, fast-paced sound; and Dutch-Iranian singer Sevdaliza, whose performances tap into deep emotional worlds. 
Sevdaliza is known for creating challenging, dreamlike music that combines acoustic instruments with intense digital manipulation.
